I’m just 50 bucks short of the bottle
That might help me get through the night
That might stop the hard/bad dreams that claw at my seams
That have her still here at my side

Only 40 bucks short of that bottle
Thanks to the lady in blue
A ten dollar bill always gives me a thrill

Still 20 bucks short of a bottle
And I’ve been standing here playing all day

Holding on as we danced in the flames

There’s just another 5 bucks for the bottle
But I don’t think I’ll hang out that long
With the money I’ve here I’ll get a carton/dozen of beer

Off they go round the bend to where all the waste blends
Then I have only to face the next day
