A D E / A D B / A D E / A D E D E D
She wore a red velvet jacket
She wore a flower in her hair
She saw half a chance and she’d take it
She bared her heart to the open air
D E / D E / D E D E
I know that I’m stuck in my memory
I know it’s just a game that I play
But I fear that in the course of a lifetime she will yet fade away
She was never shy of playing the fool
But her gaze was always clear and keen
She saw the surface she saw the heart of things
She saw the forest and every tiny creature in the trees
I know that I’m stuck in my memory
I know I’m just playing a game
I wonder if in the course of a lifetime she will yet fade away
I wake up, to find I’m still dreaming
I see her turn around and smile at me
I hear the joy in her full throated laughter
I smell/taste her scent on every breath that I breathe
I know that I’m stuck in my memory
I know I’m just playing a game
I know, that in the length of my lifetime she will not fade away
